The SpiderRating leaderboard ranks MCP servers and AI tools by SpiderScore — a composite security rating from 0 to 10. SpiderScore evaluates three dimensions: description quality (how well tool descriptions communicate intent, scope, and side effects to AI agents),security analysis (static analysis against 46+ vulnerability patterns including command injection, credential theft, and prompt injection), and metadata health (provenance, maintenance activity, and community adoption signals).

As of March 2026, we have rated 5,899 tools (1,704 MCP servers + 4,195 skills) with 25,175 individual tool definitions analyzed. Only 0.2% achieve an A grade, while 71% lack sandbox configuration — the most common security gap in the ecosystem. Servers are re-scanned regularly, and scores update as codebases evolve.
